Hi, I’m Julie, photographer and visual designer.
Also known as Jules, JDJ, and mum. I grew up on ‘The Coast’ and loved every minute of it. I now live rural in the beautiful Barrington Coast. I never tire from the picturesque mountains, rivers and beaches this magnificent place has to offer. My three big little people are my world. I also have three crazy labradors that live ‘the farm’ life. We are a tight knit bunch that love hanging out together.
I love photography books, art, and magazines. The images in books and on walls are mesmerising to me, especially when full of colour, emotion and narrative. I drool over fashion and editorial magazines and love to express myself through my own style. I believe the most important thing is to enjoy your life and to be happy. It’s contagious right?
A little bit more about me…
I am a qualified teacher and professional photographer. Discovering I had a passion for photography began in Year 11 at high school, with a self-made pinhole camera and the darkroom. I just loved the creativity of what comes from making my own camera. I took a photo of a class mate, my teacher entered the photo into a competition and it won. The prize being my first film camera! This started my journey of finding and evolving my personal style with the way I photograph, being a social, thinking, introvert with a love of people. I have a genuine, honest and deep connection when taking photographs. I love the details that create images, emotions, moments and your story.
I have the privilege of documenting people and the love, mood, and laughter of human connection. I’m devoted to my photography and value your experience. I like to balance curated photographs with raw moments, and composed with the real story. My style is simple, light and rich in colour. I will look for the beauty and natural feel of your story through photographs.
I would love for you to explore my portfolio and personal projects as I am always adding new images to both. A big dream of mine is to curate an exhibition! If you love my work and think I could tell your story I would love to hear from you!
